Minimum Concern

I am listening to arguments in my state over minimum wage. Suddenly every employer is a big corporation who is hoarding the profits, and every worker is a poor, abused employee, just trying to make a living and working hard. They want to raise the minimum wage nearly $2.00/hour. As a previously self-employed individual looking at the possibility of hiring help for my business, I shudder at the thought. $2.00/hour? How are employers supposed to afford it? $80/week? $4160/year per employee. So, keeping the math simple - suppose you are a small company with 10 employees, you are laying out $41,600 more dollars per year. Just think about that. It is outrageous.
