I purchased "We support our troops" ribbons today. I've looked high and low for the darn things and finally found them. I felt an odd sort of pride when I attached them to my truck. Not because I'm all that and a bag of chips....far from it. But I felt proud that I live in a place where we can openly support those we love and miss. Being from a generation that was far removed from the horrors of war up until a few years ago, being able to show my support in a concrete way not only makes it more real, but also validates my feelings of fear and hope.
